Sloe Gin Cocktail Recipes

Sloe Gin is a great accompaniment to many drinks. With a lower ABV and a much sweeter, softer note to many other gins, it is perfectly teamed with warming spices and winter berries and cherries. Here are our 3 favourite Sloe Gin Cocktails to make at home. Perfect to add to the agenda for Christmas Eve once your homemade Sloe Gin has infused and is ready to pop open for that special festive occasion.

Sloe Gin Fizz

Served in an elegant champagne flute, this warming winter fizz is perfect to enjoy over the festive season. This tipple adds the additional bitter and sour notes, not to mention a gorgeous deep berry colour to your traditional glass of fizz.

Ingredients (serves 1)

30ml of Lemon Juice

1 teaspoon of Simple Syrup

40ml of Sloe Gin

100ml of Champagne or Prosecco

To make:

In a Boston shaker, shake the Sloe Gin, Lemon Juice and Simple Syrup for 20 seconds. Pour into a flute, top with either Champagne or Prosecco and stir with a bar spoon. Garnish with lemon peel or float some pomegranate seeds on top.

Hedgerow Royale

Served in an Old Fashioned Glass or Champagne Saucer, this English delight packs a punch with a combination of Cherry Brandy and Sloe Gin. Enjoy light and airy bubbles of Prosecco followed by a fruity and tart berry finale.

Ingredients (serves 1)

Handful of crushed ice

50ml of Prosecco

25 ml of Sloe Gin

25 ml of Cherry Brandy

1 sprig of Rosemary

To make:

Fill the glass with crushed ice and add the Prosecco. Pour in the Sloe Gin and Cherry Brandy and allow them to sink to the bottom. Clap the sprig of rosemary between your hands to release the flavour, and add to the glass. Serve without stirring.

Mulled Sloe Gin

We love this Mulled Sloe Gin recipe, a comforting mug of Winter Spices mixed with a fruity base of apple juice and our favourite seasonal Gin. This tipple will not only taste delicious, but the aromas are guaranteed to fill your home with an inviting Christmas scent.

Ingredients (serves 1)

75ml cloudy apple juice

25ml of Sloe Gin

Cinnamon stick

Mixed spice powder

3 cloves

4 pieces of orange peel

To make:

Add the apple juice, cinnamon stick, spices and three pieces of orange peel (save one for the garnish)  to a saucepan and simmer for 20 minutes.

Using a mesh strainer, pour the spicy hot apple juice into a mug or glass mug and add the Sloe Gin to taste. Stir to ensure everything is mixed in and add a garnish of Orange Peel or Crystallized Ginger.
